This 60-Year Old Still Has His Bodybuilding Mojo
He may be nearing the twilight of his life, but 60-year old Harold “Skip” Barbee is still living the dream. As the principal of Bransford Elementary School in Springfield, TN, Barbee contributes to the molding of children into productive members of the society.

Earlier this year, despite a 21-year absence from competing in bodybuilding contests, Barbee decided to give it another run.
It all paid off earlier this month as Barbee was named the winner of two competitions, one of them the Tennessee championship, where he captured the title of Mr. Tennessee in the master class, a division for men ages 60 and older.
A staple figure in the education sector in Robertson Country, Barbee has been an educator for 39 years and principal of Bransford Elementary School for 17 years. He already has a fan base in his community. But for the principal, his most important fan is his 7-year old grandson.
“I’m an idol to my grandson, and really, that’s the most important thing in the world to me,” he said. “He wants to do all that I do, and I hope I can continue to be something positive for him.”
Looking into the future, Barbee sees himself competing at a bigger stage. At the rate he is going, there is no doubt he can make it there.
“It’s such a rush. When you hear the crowd roar because of something you did, it’s one of those feelings. There’s none better in the world.”
